Reflection and mirroring

Sat 31 Oct 2020 - 15:00 to 17:30
Landcommanderij Alden Biesen, Kasteelstraat 6, 3740 Bilzen

In 2020, we will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Gaspard Félix-Tournachon, better known as Nadar. As a renowned French writer, draughtsman and journalist, Nadar became best known as a photographer who brought together artists from all disciplines in his studio and immortalised them in beautiful portraits (Claude Debussy, Victor Hugo, Jules Verne...). From his balloon, he went down in history as the first aerial photographer.

The Nadar Ensemble, a Belgian ensemble for contemporary music, described by de Standaard as 'Flanders' most adventurous formation', will set to work on this and will pay tribute to Nadar in an exceptional programme. It will be an adventurous course full of music for young and old. Come and watch a virtuoso piece of piano playing without a piano present.

Cellist Benjamin Glorieux and pianist Anthony Romaniuk have been making music together for years, and their concerts are always characterised by a high dose of virtuosity and creativity. Especially for this intimate concert, they prepare a range of beautiful melodies, from dancing fairies to buzzing cantilenes, and leave the order of the performed works to the audience ... An à la carte concert!

Mobile craft workshop Hausgemacht lets you return to the adventurous early days of photography in this open studio. In the 19th century, this sorcery was still a meticulous process. Jules Verne could only dream of a fast selfie that could be s

hared in the cloud via social media.
